Football Recap: Zephyrhills Takes a Loss

Zephyrhills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Land O' Lakes Gators 44-6.

Land O' Lakes found their leader in sophomore Sophia Spiegel, who threw for 160 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns. Spiegel is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: she's passed for at least four every time she's taken the field this season.

Zephyrhills' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Land O' Lakes, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Zephyrhills and Cypress Creek will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 7:00 p.m. on March 12th. Zephyrhills is facing Cypress Creek at the right time seeing as Cypress Creek is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Land O' Lakes, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
