Softball Recap: Cypress Woods Takes a Loss

Cypress Woods was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Langham Creek Lobos. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 10, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Alexia Vazquez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Cypress Woods' defeat dropped their record down to 10-13-1. As for Langham Creek, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-4.

Coming up, Cypress Woods will be playing at home against Cypress Lakes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.1 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Langham Creek, they will take on Cypress Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.38 runs per game on average), something the Lobos will no doubt try to take advantage of.
