Basketball Recap: Midway Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Knoxville Central, Midway was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sequoyah Chiefs, sneaking past 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Green Wave have posted since December 10, 2024.

Midway now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Sequoyah, they moved to 7-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Midway won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sweetwater at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Green Wave will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.45 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sequoyah, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on McMinn Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Chiefs surely won't give up without a fight.
