Lafayette won the last time they faced Ville Platte and things went their way on Saturday too. The Lions came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 57-48. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 116th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lafayette's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Ville Platte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Lafayette will be home for the holidays to greet Northwest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ville Platte, they will venture away from home to challenge North Vermilion at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
