Football Recap: West Rowan Falcons vs. East Rowan Mustangs
While West Rowan's win against East Rowan wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Falcons skirted past the Mustangs 35-33. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Falcons were down 27-7 in the third quarter.

West Rowan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Martin, who rushed for 101 yards and one score on only nine carries. Martin really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run. West Rowan also got a significant boost from Devaunh White, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 105 yards.
West Rowan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kaden Sanders and Jamih Tucker. Tucker got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Despite the loss, East Rowan still got an impressive performance from Jason Bonds, who picked up 121 receiving yards and three TDs. Julian Cauble was another key player, throwing for 251 yards and three touchdowns.
West Rowan now has a winning record of 4-3. As for East Rowan, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. West Rowan will square off against Jay M. Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with the Falcons sitting on three straight victories and the Bulldogs on six. As for East Rowan, they will take on Carson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
