Baseball Recap: Ellington Snags 11th Win in Last 14 Games

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Ellington and East Granby, and Ellington kept the tradition alive. The Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand the Crusaders a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Dylan Killoran made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Killoran was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other pitching news, Jaxson Dumond looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Tyler Dumond was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Chase Thomas was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs.

Ellington is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for East Granby, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Ellington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Granby, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Windsor at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
