Baseball Game Preview: Tilton School Rams vs. Vermont Academy Wildcats

The Tilton School Rams will head out to challenge the Vermont Academy Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Last Monday, Tilton School beat Holderness 10-7.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vermont Academy). They blew past Bellows Falls 19-4 on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Will Shlomm looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Milo Tucker and Kaiden McCarthy did most of the damage at the plate: Tucker scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while McCarthy scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Sinacola, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Vermont Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellows Falls only posted an OBP of .417.

Vermont Academy pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Tilton School, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Tilton School might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Vermont Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
