Green River is 1-9 against Rock Springs since April of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wolves will look to defend their home field against the TIGERS at 3:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Green River took a loss when they played away from home back in March, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They came out on top against South by a score of 12-9.
Haidyn Terry was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits. Terry was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.
In other batting news, Kodi Allred was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Chacee Shiner was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4.
Meanwhile, Rock Springs didn't have quite enough to beat Torrington on Saturday and fell 12-11.
Rilynn Wester and Tarin Anderson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Wester went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Anderson went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Tomison, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Green River's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Rock Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-1 record this season.
