Softball Recap: Glendora Triumphs

Glendora let Granada Hills Charter stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Saturday but luckily Glendora prevailed anyway. The Tartans came out on top against the Highlanders by a score of 7-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tartans.

Ryan Torres and Kaylie Winovitch did most of the damage at the plate: Torres went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Winovitch went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lauren Curiel, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Glendora hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.

Glendora's win bumped their record up to 18-2-2. As for Granada Hills Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9-1.

Glendora has already played their next matchup, a 4-0 victory against Banning on the 18th. As for Granada Hills Charter, they will face off against Chatsworth at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Highlanders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chancellors have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
