Soccer Recap: The Woodlands' Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against Cleveland last Friday, The Woodlands came back down to earth. The Woodlands Highlanders fell 3-1 to the College Park Cavaliers on Tuesday. The Highlanders were red-hot offensively heading into the match (they scored no less than four goals in the three games prior), but the Cavaliers' defense proved too tough.

The Woodlands moved to 10-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for College Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

The Woodlands and College Park should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Woodlands will face off against New Caney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 493 places (176 vs. 669). Similarly, College Park (ranked 80th) will meet Cleveland (ranked 578th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
