Basketball Recap: Marshalltown Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Marshalltown can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Mason City Mohawks by a score of 40-27. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bobcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Mohawks are ranked 109th).

Marshalltown's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9. As for Mason City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Marshalltown will challenge Waterloo West at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mason City, they will host Fort Dodge at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Mason City is facing Fort Dodge at the right time seeing as Fort Dodge is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
