Baseball Recap: Saint Thomas Aquinas Gets the Win

With a playoff win on the line, Saint Thomas Aquinas rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Niagara Badgers. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 6-5 victory back in May.

Jake Farley and Teagan Anderson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Farley didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Meanwhile, Anderson tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Farley went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, while Anderson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tug Paidl, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Simon King also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Saint Thomas Aquinas' win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Niagara, they moved to 6-12 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Saint Thomas Aquinas nor the Badgers have any future games scheduled.
