Baseball Game Preview: Strongsville Mustangs vs. Brunswick Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Strongsville will face off against Brunswick. The Mustangs will head out to face off against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Strongsville's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Brunswick's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Strongsville fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Brunswick on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 10-7 to the Blue Devils. Mustangs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Blue Devils since on Monday.

For Brunswick's part, Ryan Maslyk looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Maslyk has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Connor Adams was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Alex Hubbell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Brunswick was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .410. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Brunswick is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Strongsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
