Basketball Recap: Koliganek Skates Past Chief Ivan Blunka with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Koliganek). They claimed a resounding 73-34 win over the Chief Ivan Blunka Eagles. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-14.

Koliganek was led to victory by Gusty Tunguing IV and Andy Andrew. Tunguing IV posted 21 points, while Andrew put up 20 points. Dillon Tunguing was another key player, putting up nine points.

The victory made it two in a row for Koliganek and bumps their season record up to 6-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7 Togiak and 7-8 Chief Ivan Blunka. As for Chief Ivan Blunka, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-8.

Koliganek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-46 win against Togiak on the 8th. As for Chief Ivan Blunka, they have also already played their next matchup, a 76-56 loss against Koliganek on the 8th.
