Football Recap: Lakeside Christian Comes Up Short at Home Against First Academy

Lakeside Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 41-18 to the First Academy Eagles on Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead First Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Henry Purvis, who threw for 193 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 57 yards. Those 193 passing yards gave Purvis a new career-high. Another receiver making a difference was Luke Rutzebeck, who gained 76 total yards and two touchdowns.

Coming up, Lakeside Christian is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Cornerstone Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for First Academy, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Saint Francis Catholic Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
