Basketball Game Preview: Lake Nona Lions vs. Trinity Prep Saints

The Lake Nona Lions will face off against the Trinity Prep Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lake Nona is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Boone last Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lake Nona was outmatched by Boone and fell 61-23. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-15.

Meanwhile, Trinity Prep ended up a good deal behind Deltona on Tuesday and lost 49-35. The Saints haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Lake Nona will have to contain Reese Macau as she made an impact in Trinity Prep's last game. She posted 16 points.

Lake Nona has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Trinity Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Everything came up roses for Lake Nona against Trinity Prep in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 58-26 victory. Does Lake Nona have another victory up their sleeve, or will Trinity Prep turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
