Basketball Recap: Forest Hills Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Forest Hills had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.7 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 58-24 win over the Parkwood Wolf Pack. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Forest Hills found their leader in freshman Derrianna Mclendon, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Leyah Melton, who posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals.

Forest Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 19 offensive boards in eight consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why Parkwood lost, don't look at Madison Owen. Despite the final result, she had four points and five rebounds. That's the most boards Owen has posted since back in February of 2024.

Forest Hills pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. As for Parkwood, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Forest Hills has already played their next contest, a 57-34 win against Piedmont on the 31st. As for Parkwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 74-70 victory against West Stanly on the 28th.
