Baseball Game Preview: Bixby Spartans vs. Bishop Kelley Comets

The Bixby Spartans will venture away from home to face off against the Bishop Kelley Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bixby is headed out to face Bishop Kelley after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Everything went the Spartans' way against Coweta on Thursday as they made off with a 19-1 victory.

Bishop Kelley came out on top against Union on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Comets had just enough and edged out the Redhawks 4-3. The win was just business as usual for the Comets, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Mack Conroy looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Issac Anderson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Jayne, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Bixby was able to grind out a solid victory over Bishop Kelley when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 7-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
