Baseball Recap: Juniata Takes a Loss

Juniata extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-4. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenwood Wildcats. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Daylyn Kennedy made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season.

As for Greenwood, the victory got them back to even at 3-3. The matchup marked their most dominant win of the season so far.

On Greenwood's side, A.J. Adlon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Adlon was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

In other batting news, Brayden Beneito was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owen Losch, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Juniata will head out to challenge East Juniata at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenwood, they will venture away from home to face off against Newport at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Buffaloes have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
