Recap: La Salette Academy Lions vs. First Baptist Christian
The La Salette Academy Lions came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 59-55 W over First Baptist Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Charles Prather was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with nine rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eamon Martin, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
La Salette Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for First Baptist Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-3.
La Salette Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Assumption Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Assumption Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. First Baptist Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wabash Valley HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th.
