Softball Recap: Triton Comes Up Short

Triton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Blooming Prairie Blossoms, falling 21-11. On the bright side, the 11- run effort marked the Cobras' highest-scoring contest to date.

Aubrey Sanson stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Addison Oakland was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Triton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Blooming Prairie, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Triton will venture away from home to square off against Schaeffer Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blooming Prairie, they will head out to take on United South Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
