Baseball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Hononegah hit Jefferson with a four-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The J-Hawks lost 11-1 to the Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the J-Hawks of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Jefferson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Bauer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Jefferson's defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Hononegah, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-14 record this season.

While Jefferson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
