Basketball Recap: Brookfield Takes a Loss

Brookfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Canton Tigers, falling 69-47. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while the Tigers are ranked 86th).

Preston Brewer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Canton, shooting 6-for-7 from long range and dropping a double-double on 40 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Brewer has scored at least a third of Canton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Frazier, who posted eight points and three steals.

Brookfield's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Canton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Brookfield has already played their next game (against Salisbury), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Canton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 75-73 loss against Monroe City on the 23rd.
