Softball Recap: Hammondsport Takes a Loss

Hammondsport had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it nine. They lost 19-5 to the Avoca-Prattsburgh Titans. If the Lakers were looking for revenge after losing 23-0 to the Titans when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hammondsport saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashlee Meade, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Avoca-Prattsburgh, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

On Avoca-Prattsburgh's side, AJ McIntyre made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. McIntyre was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Addy Stonw was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Meyah Putnam, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Hammondsport has already played their next game, a 19-5 loss against Avoca Central on the 28th. As for Avoca-Prattsburgh, they will face off against Addison at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
