Basketball Game Preview: Ysleta Indians vs. Riverside Rangers

Ysleta is 0-10 against Riverside since January of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Ysleta Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Riverside Rangers at 7:30 p.m.

Ysleta is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 40-20 to Mountain View.

Meanwhile, Riverside entered their tilt with San Elizario on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They claimed a resounding 68-34 victory over the Eagles. The Rangers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Riverside's win came from a few key players Ysleta will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Yazmin Rios, who went 7 of 9 en route to 17 points along with six steals and five assists. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Castro, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 15 points and four steals.

Riverside is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Ysleta, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-18.

Ysleta was taken down by Riverside 82-9 in their previous matchup on January 7th. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ysleta was down 54-4.
