Softball Recap: Jackson Timberwolves vs. Kamiak Knights
Jackson fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Kamiak on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 7-6. The Timberwolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Allie Thomsen (2025-UW) was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 9.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Reese Westman (2026) was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. Clara Stone(2027) was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.
Jackson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Kamiak, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.
