Recap: George Ranch Longhorns vs. Katy Taylor Mustangs
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the George Ranch Longhorns had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 21-19 win over Katy Taylor. The win was familiar territory for George Ranch who now have three in a row.
Deion Drinkard was a one-man wrecking crew for George Ranch as he rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns on only 19 passes. George Ranch also got help from Lane Walton who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.
Loss or not, Katy Taylor got some senior leadership from Daniel Bruns who threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns and Dante Archie who gained 158 total yards.
George Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Katy Taylor, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
George Ranch will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Stratford at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Stratford is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games. Katy Taylor does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
