Recap: Greenville Green Wave vs. Xenia Buccaneers
The Greenville Green Wave suffered their biggest defeat since December 27, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 66-46 loss at the hands of Xenia. Greenville has not had much luck with Xenia recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Greenville had strong showings from Drew Hamilton, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Chace Drew, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Hamilton hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
Greenville dropped their record down to 3-14 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Xenia, their win bumped their record up to 4-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville will face off against Stebbins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stebbins presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Greenville in Ohio (Stebbins is ranked 222nd, while Greenville is ranked 739th). As for Xenia, they will head out on the road to face off against Troy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Troy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
