North Carolina brings back three of nation's top four most productive backs from 2013.

They combined for 29,609 rushing yards and 416 rushing touchdowns in 2013.
And there's only 10 of them.
The most productive running backs in 11-man football who return in 2014 were a busy crew of athletes. They also combined for a staggering 3,094 carries.

In order, here are the top returners according to stats entered into MaxPreps:

Rocky Reid, Concord

1. Rocky Reid, Concord (N.C.)The 6-foot-1, 210-pound incoming senior rushed a truly staggering 432 times for 3,355 yards and 39 touchdowns last season. Reid will have plenty of motivation in 2014 after losing in the state title game, 21-13, to Havelock. Reid rushed 42 times for 224 yards and a TD in that game.
The Tennessee commit is the 78th-ranked running back in the country, according to
247Sports. Three times he rushed for more than 300 yards and scored at least four touchdowns in four games.
2. Kellen Overstreet, Penney (Hamilton, Mo.)The 5-11, 201-pound incoming senior rushed for a nation-best 53 touchdowns to go along with 3,327 yards on 361 carries. A true game-breaker, Overstreet had nine runs of at least 50 yards with a long of 82 and he rushed for at least five touchdowns in seven different games, with a high of seven in a contest.
Overstreet, ranked the 105th-top running back in the country by
247Sports, has committed to Wyoming.
3. Nyheim Hines, Garner Magnet (Garner, N.C.)The 5-9, 181-pound incoming senior rushed for touchdowns every six carries while going for 3,137 yards. His 49 rushing touchdowns were third in the nation.
He rushed for more than 200 yards in 10 consecutive games before busting out with a 444-yard explosion on 32 carries and seven touchdowns in a 63-56 win over Jack Britt. He's ranked as the No. 79 recruit overall by
247Sports and No. 2 all-purpose back.
Also a tremendous receiver, Hines also had 29 catches last season for 599 yards and nine touchdowns. He's likely looking at the ACC for college suitors with Clemson, Duke and North Carolina as his top choices.
4. Johnny Frasier, Princeton (N.C.)What's with North Carolina and all these runners? The 6-foot, 205-pounder rushed 248 times for 3,042 yards and 45 touchdowns last year. Also good catching the ball out of the backfield, Frasier had 25 catches for 555 yards and five receiving touchdowns.
Though the No. 4 returner in yardage, Frasier is the No. 1 incoming senior back in the nation, according to
247Sports and Florida State appears to be his top college choice, though Duke and Georgia are of great interest. Don't count out Alabama as well.
5. Calvin Strong, Omaha North (Neb.)
Not terribly big, the 5-9, 175-pound incoming senior was surely durable last year, rushing 355 times for 3,008 yards and 43 scores. His team went 12-1 last season and won the state Class A title. He finished off the season with back-to-back 39-carry games, combining for 418 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
He's ranked as the 42nd top running back in the nation by
247Sports, but he has yet to garner any college offers. Michigan and Nebraska appear interested.
6. Alex Grace, Swan Valley (Saginaw, Mich.)The 6-foot, 200-pound incoming senior rushed 295 times for 2,962 yards and 36 touchdowns. Grace averaged better than 10 yards per carry and he rushed for more than 200 yards in nine of his team's 12 games, twice clearing the 300-yard barrier.
Grace also played some quarterback and strong safety and is considered one of the top all-around athletes in Michigan. He's
committed to Western Michigan.
7. D'Andre Pollard, Neshaminy (Langhorne, Pa.)Built low to the ground, the powerful 5-7, 170-pound incoming senior rushed 326 times for 2,928 yards and 39 touchdowns, leading his team to a 13-2 record and the state semifinals.
Pollard
committed to Villanova on June 24.
8. Markell Jones, Columbus East (Ind.)
The rugged 5-10, 205-pound incoming senior rushed 252 times for 2,653 yards and 42 touchdowns, leading his team to 15-0 record and 4A state title.
Jones rushed 22 times for 199 yards and two scores in the state title game, a thrilling 28-27 win over Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, a week after he rushed for 286 yards and four scores in a semifinal win. He's ranked the state's
17th-best running back and has committed to Purdue.
9. Jamie Taylor, Rim of the World (Lake Arrowhead, Calif.)The 5-11, 165-pound incoming senior rushed 317 times for 2,610 yards and 32 touchdowns, leading his team to an 8-3 record. Rim of the World lost a second-round playoff game to St. Margaret's, 27-26, but Taylor rushed 37 times for 392 yards and four touchdowns.
10. Taren Morrison, Desert Ridge (Mesa, Ariz.)
The 5-11, 185-pound incoming senior rushed just 209 times, but for 2,587 yards and 38 touchdowns. Three times he rushed for more than 300 yards, including 360 yards and five scores against perennial Phoenix power Brophy Prep in the state playoffs.
Morrison is ranked the 30th best running back in the country by
247Sports and he's received an offer from Arizona.
