Baseball Recap: Jordan Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Jordan ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Lone Peak Knights 5-4. Five seems to be a good number for the Beetdiggers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

TALON PETERSEN tossed a big game, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Jordan is 5-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Jordan's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was JOSEPH PEAK, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI PEAK has posted since back in March.

The victory made it two in a row for Jordan and bumps their season record up to 13-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Lone Peak, they dropped their record down to 16-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Jordan will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
