Baseball Recap: Coventry Takes a Loss

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Coventry was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They fell 4-1 to the Somers Spartans. The matchup marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Coventry saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kevin Johnson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double. That double was Johnson's first of the season.

Coventry's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-4. As for Somers, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Coventry will square off against Suffield at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Somers, they will take on Windsor Locks at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
