After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hilltop, North Central was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Holgate Tigers. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
North Central had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-20.
Despite the loss, Holgate still got an impressive performance from Mya Tijerina, who had 38 digs and a kill. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Tijerina now had 15 or more in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.
