Basketball Game Preview: Kinkaid Falcons vs. Legion Preparatory Academy Bulldogs

Having just played yesterday, the Kinkaid Falcons will get right back to it and host the Legion Preparatory Academy Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kinkaid comes in on four and Legion Preparatory Academy on three.

On Friday, Kinkaid took their contest with ease, bagging an 89-25 victory over St. John's. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Legion Preparatory Academy is ranked highly in their home state and two weeks ago they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Dyersburg. Legion Preparatory Academy came out on top against Dyersburg by a score of 59-52.

Kinkaid better keep an eye on Rieyan DeSouze. She was instrumental in Legion Preparatory Academy's win, putting up 17 points. The dominant performance gave DeSouze a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylie Carr, who posted 11 points.

Kinkaid pushed their record up to 22-9 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points per game. As for Legion Preparatory Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Kinkaid, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-45 loss to Legion Preparatory Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024.
