Basketball Game Preview: St. Mary's Academy Crusaders vs. Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF

St. Mary's Academy is 2-8 against Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Crusaders will take on Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF in a holiday battle at 8:00 p.m.

St. Mary's Academy came into this matchup off a tough 49-point loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Metro Academy by a score of 49-46 on Friday.

St. Mary's Academy's defeat came about despite a quality game from Titus Varnado, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 18 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Nick Engholm, who posted four points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down Frankfort 61-45 on Tuesday.

St. Mary's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

St. Mary's Academy came up short against Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF in their previous meeting back in February, falling 38-34. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
