Baseball Recap: Monte Alto Takes a Loss

Monte Alto and Lyford squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Monte Alto had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Devil in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost nine in a row.

Monte Alto's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Lyford, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lyford beat Monte Alto by a score of 19-3 on Friday.
