Volleyball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends West Salem's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but West Salem unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-match winning streak on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Luther Knights. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 10-25, 25-18, 25-23.

Josie Brudos paced West Salem's offense, picking up 13 kills. Brudos got some help from Addie Jehn and her 21 assists. Baylee Faucett controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Kamryn Anderson had an outrageously good game for Luther as she had 21 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Anderson has posted over her last 13 contests.

West Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Luther, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

West Salem has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Cuba City on the 11th. As for Luther, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Westby at 7:00 p.m.
