Football Recap: Michael Morley's Menacing Defense Leads Pine Bush over Kingston

Pine Bush won the last time they faced Kingston and Jemire Bey-Dominick did his part to make sure it happened again. The Bushmen enjoyed a cozy 36-20 victory over the Tigers on Friday thanks in part to Bey-Dominick, who rushed for 203 yards and three scores while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 101 rushing yards per game.

Another player making a difference was Noah Schorling, who gained 97 total yards and a touchdown. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making two total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Pine Bush didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Michael Morley, Schorling, and Jordan Bryant picked up one apiece. Morley is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.

Kingston's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Calvin Byrd-Towns, who rushed for 112 yards on only 12 carries. Byrd-Towns' longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

The win made it two in a row for Pine Bush and bumps their season record up to 2-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points over those games. As for Kingston, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Pine Bush will square off against Valley Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bushmen will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Kingston, they will challenge Newburgh Free Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
