Recap: Gulf Buccaneers vs. Hudson Cobras

The Gulf Buccaneers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They breezed by Hudson on the road to the tune of 69-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Gulf has posted since December 19, 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gulf to victory, but perhaps none more so than William Ruffin, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Carlos Domenech was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Hudson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tejacion Chapman. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Chapman is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshia Davis, who scored seven points.

Gulf's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Hudson, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gulf will take on Land O' Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hudson, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Crystal River at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Crystal River is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
