Softball Recap: Oswego Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Oswego's offense. They came up short against the Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets on Thursday, falling 8-0. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Oswego saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maria Sweet, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Abbie Ohnmacht also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Oswego dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Fayetteville-Manlius, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oswego will challenge Jamesville-DeWitt at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fayetteville-Manlius, they will host West Genesee at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
