Softball Recap: Beaufort Drops Season-High Score on Bishop England

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beaufort). Everything went their way against the Bishop England Battling Bishops on Wednesday as they made off with a 19-4 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by 12 runs or more this season.

Adalyn Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caylin Adkins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Emily Robinson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Beaufort was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Beaufort's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-7. As for Bishop England, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Beaufort will challenge May River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Sharks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Bishop England, they will face off against Bluffton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Battling Bishops are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
