Basketball Recap: Globe Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Globe had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Apache Junction Prospectors 41-19 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2025.

Despite the loss, Apache Junction saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kirra Englund dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Globe's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 5-11. As for Apache Junction, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-14.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Globe is set to square off against their familiar foe Florence at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Apache Junction will face off against rival Seton Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
