Basketball Recap: Hoops for Christ's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Hoops for Christ can bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They secured a 56-52 W over the Stillwater S Spartans. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Stillwater S lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nash Bertram, who posted 12 points and seven steals. Bertram has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Miller, who scored 15 points and three steals.

Hoops for Christ's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Stillwater S, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Hoops for Christ will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Aspire HomeSchool at 3:45 p.m. on February 1st. Stillwater S has already played their next game (against Putnam Heights Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
