Volleyball Recap: Heritage Eagles vs. Highlands Ranch Falcons
It was a Battle of the Birds when Heritage challenged Highlands Ranch on Wednesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 3-2. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Heritage took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-23, 15-11.
Highlands Ranch found their leader in sophomore Maggie Weiss, who had 19 digs. Those 19 digs set a new season-high mark for Weiss. Alice Weiss also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Heritage's loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6. As for Highlands Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.
Coincidentally, Heritage and Highlands Ranch will both be playing Regis Jesuit the next time they take the court. The Falcons will head out to face the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
