Softball Recap: Thorp Cardinals vs. Stanley-Boyd Orioles
Thorp extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-12. They came up short against the Stanley-Boyd Orioles, falling 12-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Orioles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in April.
As for Stanley-Boyd, their win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by seven runs or more this season.
For Stanley-Boyd's part, they got a massive performance out of Bailey Sikora, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave Sikora a new career-high. Kendall Sikora also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Thorp has already played their next contest, a 10-8 victory against Chequamegon on the 9th. As for Stanley-Boyd, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Fall Creek on the 12th.
