Basketball Recap: Sunnydale Academy Takes a Loss

Sunnydale Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 50-15 to the Mile High Academy Mustangs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, Sunnydale Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 504th in Missouri, while Mile High Academy is ranked 199th in Colorado).

It was another big night for Addy Dodds, who went 10-for-16 on her way to 26 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals for Mile High Academy. Mile High Academy is 9-1 when Dodds posts five or more steals, but 3-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Delanie Prowant, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Sunnydale Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Mile High Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Sunnydale Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mile High Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 45-38 defeat against Campion Academy on the 14th.
