Baseball Recap: Shawnee Takes a Loss

Shawnee fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Graham Local on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 4-3. The Braves have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Joey Ross put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Ross wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaiden Roeder, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Shawnee's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Graham Local, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Shawnee will face off against Archbishop Alter at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Graham Local, they will square off against Southeastern Local at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
