Softball Recap: South Central Comes Up Short

South Central and Clarksville pushed the score to 16-4 the last time they played Clarksville, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Rebels fell just short of the Generals by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 16-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Kaylee Chanley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for South Central and nudges their season record down to 8-12. As for Clarksville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-8.

Looking ahead, South Central will host Southwestern at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Clarksville, they will take on Salem at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
