Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

It was a proper cat-fight when Northwestern took on Luck on Saturday. The Tigers walked away with a 2-0 win over the Cardinals. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2021.

Northwestern easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-19.

Their offense was headlined by Savanna Moore and Shelby Hessel, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Finley Peterson and her 11 assists. Genna Kreuser and Emma Dahl kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Despite the loss, Luck had strong showings from Grace Olson, who had nine digs and eight assists, and Grace Mattson, who had seven digs.

Northwestern has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Luck, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.

Northwestern didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Chetek-Weyerhaeuser on the 27th. As for Luck, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Mercer on the 27th.
