Fort Bend Kempner and Weiss squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Fort Bend Kempner had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 63-48 to the Weiss Wolves. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Fort Bend Kempner's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mario James, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 12 points. James is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Taylor Haynes was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Fort Bend Kempner's defeat dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Weiss, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-18 record this season.

Fort Bend Kempner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Weiss, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 48-44 loss against Beaumont United on the 25th.
