Baseball Game Preview: Foley Lions vs. Fairhope Pirates

For the second straight game, Foley will face off against Fairhope. The Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pirates at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Foley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Foley fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Fairhope on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 6-5.

For Fairhope's part, they let Will Sparks and Alex Herington run wild. Sparks scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Herington scored a run while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Sparks a new career-high.

Fairhope has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Foley, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 19-14.
